“Chick and Ruth’s Delly in Annapolis, Maryland” 40”x30” $890 SOLD MN
This was a nightmare to paint. It’s a look inside this real and existing “delly” in Annapolis. I’d add a pile of plates or silverware every day for weeks until I gave up. If this doesn’t sell I’ll be compelled to add more dishes. I took a photo from a staircase in the back of the delicatessen and the painting is from that photo. The “delly” is still there (and spelled like that) and has great food.
“Fired, 3 ” 24”x24” SOLD LB
I’ll never get tired of trying to show light. This subject of molten metal lets me show light in different intensities. JM
“Gentle Day, No. 2” 48”x30”$890 SOLD LB
Details: Left, shoreline, Right, the little houses. I’ll keep painting this scene simply because it does convey to me a “gentle day.” It’s great for those days that I get hassled. I may keep this one. JM Whoops. Sold

“Magnolia Leaves, 2”
sold
This one came from a photograph of a budding branch. To me it gives light, exuberance, and joyful anticipation.
I figure that this peach must weigh about 100 pounds. If someone wanted a focal point in a dull room this painting would do it.
This is one of the most difficult paintings I’ve done. Getting the light to shine through the magnolia leaves was not easy. This is one of my favorites.
